Nicola - Brown Fox Art
SALA exhibition
Where the magic happens …
At 16, Nicola Kemp, unschooled, dyslexic (therefore highly visual and creative) and passionate about art, moved from Port Lincoln to Adelaide to start a new life. Art was, and always has been, her meditation and her love. With a pencil in her hand, whilst listening to meditative North American flute music, Nicola sat at the kitchen table in Grange and started producing her nature inspired artworks.
Bio
Her coastal origins and upbringing on Eyre Peninsula’s wild west coast, made sea creatures an obvious choice. The "American lobster" was her first piece. People loved it. Encouraged by this, Nicola went on to produce a number of sea inspired pieces; "Coffin Bay Oysters", "Royal Davui Conch", "Gossiping Girls", and more. Commissions started to flow in. With her parents encouragement and input; one a graphic designer and the other a marketer, Brown Fox Art was born. Since the lobster Nicola has branched into land based creatures as well. Her journey is just beginning. We hope you enjoy her work from the kitchen table ... 'where the magic happens'.
