Bio
Originally trained as a journalist, photographer Forest Harder discovered his love for visual storytelling when he found the reality of mainstream journalism fell short of his romantic expectations. Largely self-taught, Forest's subjects include the natural environment, urban settings and people. He has spent the majority of his time in recent years adventuring across Indonesia, Fiji, Vietnam, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia and Australia capturing atmospheric, awe-inspiring landscapes. Prior to this his focus was on shooting raw, honest images of life on the streets of Hong Kong, Shanghai and Adelaide.
In 2015 Forest was a finalist in five art awards, including The Advertiser’s Contemporary Art Prize, the Brisbane Art Prize and the Donkey Art Prize, an international contemporary art award. He has had work published in Art Edit Magazine and exhibited as part of the South Australian Living Artists Festival.
